With Canmore Uncorked just around the corner, we want to get you started with enjoying the delicious and unique foods of Canmore. While we may be a small town, Canmore is home to remarkable culinary talent and this month, we want to celebrate that! Whether you’re a foodie or are looking for the best place for your après ski meal, Downtown Canmore has it all. Let us tell you about our favourite restaurants.
Let’s start with coffee
There are a ton of coffee shops downtown Canmore, yet they are all unique. For the foodie, Mountain Mercato is a specialty food market with the perfect espresso to match it – you must try the Dulce Latte. The Bicycle Cafe specializes in bikes, however they offer so much more than that. Serving Stumptown coffee, The Bicycle Cafe is the perfect one-stop shop. A few of our other favourites include Beamers , Good Earth Coffeehouse, JK Bakery and The Canary. If you aren’t a coffee fan, make sure to stop by and grab a smoothie from Mountain Juice Cafe or a freshly squeezed juice from Toniq Juice Shop, or simply marvel at the range of teas in Communitea.

And what goes better with coffee than freshly baked pastries? Nestled on 7th ave, JK Bakery is a small artisan bakery who’s baking, dare we say it, is better than your mother’s! The locally owned bakery makes homemade artisan bread daily and the best red velvet cookies you will ever taste. Harvest Cafe , located on 10th street will also satisfy your cravings. The carrot cake and cinnamon buns will keep you coming back again, and again. Some of our other favourites are Communitea, Good Earth, Beamers and the Rocky Mountain Bagel Co.

Lunchtime eats
Downtown Canmore is the hub for the mountain town so it’s no wonder the lunch spots are so delicious. A few of our favourites include The Rocky Mountain Bagel Co., JK Bakery, Harvest , The Range, Hogs Head and Graze . Whether you’re in the mood for lox, capers and homemade cream cheese on a freshly baked bagel, or for a slow roasted meat sandwich, Downtown Canmore has it all.
As you’re usually on the go in the mountains, and may not have time for a sit-down meal, the chefs here acknowledge that and to-go lunches are easy to find. Bella Crusta is a must while you’re in town. Generous sandwiches on freshly baked herb Focaccia bread will keep you satisfied all day. Beamers Coffee also has the perfect lunch for meals on the go and Communitea has recently opened up online ordering so your lunch is ready when you are. We also love Good Earth Coffeehouse, Subway and Rusticana for their pre-made lunches too.
