Five Must-Have Canmore Souvenirs

When visiting Canmore, your first souvenirs are obvious. Photos capture memories and for the most part they will last a lifetime, but sometimes you seek something a little more to commemorate your time in the Canadian Rockies. Lucky for you, Downtown Canmore boasts many different stores to collect trinkets and souvenirs that fit every budget.

Canmore Big Head

You will come across this jewelry at the Canmore Market and you might just notice that loads of locals have these trinkets adorning their fingers. If you’ve missed the market, these adorable little Mountain Rings can be found at Mountain Mercantile and are created by the talented Mackenzie Jones  (@mmackenziejones). Fortunately, Jones’ collection doesn’t just stop at rings so you’ll be able to pick out something nice for your mom as well. That way you can avoid matching — unless you want to!

The mandatory stop when visiting Canmore is the Big Head. A photograph with the Canmore Big Head is absolutely necessary, but if you’re seeking something a little more materialistic, you can purchase a Big Head t-shirt to commemorate your visit at Canmore’s General Store.

Lather up with a bath bomb from Rocky Mountain Soap Co or handmade soap bars from O’Canada Soapworks. Nothing says rest and relaxation like a long bath, filled with  luscious bubbles and your favourite scents. Both local soap companies are sustainable and offer organic products with a long list of varied scents.

Toast to your time in Canmore and the endless adventures you’ve experienced. Drink to the memories with brews from Grizzly Paw Brewing. We highly suggest taking a sampler pack home, so you can try each one, or if you’ve already found your favourite stick with what you know!

This souvenir is bound to turn some heads… why not get some fresh ink and go home with a Canmore tattoo featuring the famed Three Sisters peaks. There are multiple skilled tattoo parlours and artists in town to help you achieve a permanent memory of your time spent in Canmore and the Canadian Rockies, such as Primitiveimprint. We suggest connecting early with these merchants, as their schedule tends to fill up in the summer.

All in all, there are plenty of shops with beautiful trinkets and souvenirs for you to commemorate your visit to Canmore, Alberta. While the options listed here are great choices, you’ll have to peruse the local shops to find something just right for you and what you would like to remember. You can always find a full list of shops here, so you can make your way through each one. Happy hunting!
