We’re all in need of a little rejuvenation after the holiday season.
We suppose we could blame how we are feeling on the holiday season with all the binge eating of nana’s fruit cakes, all the mimosas and NYE champagne, or even just having to entertain the whole family. Whatever the reason may be, we can honestly say we are EXHAUSTED and much in need of some rest and relaxation to rejuvenate ourselves and kick-off 2020.
We will assume you are just like us and don’t have a private plane or the extra post-holiday funds to just jet off to Maui or Bali. You may feel a sense of alarm, but the truth is that a little R&R is just what the Rockies have waiting for you!
Whether you have just a tad bit of wiggle room in the budget, or maybe a smidgeon more, there are a variety of options here in Canmore for everyone.
Cozy up by the fire
Booking the right spot to rest your pretty little head is absolutely crucial for achieving maximum rejuvenation as soon as possible. Nothing is more zen than checking into your ideal accommodation with no hassle!
Anyone knows what we mean when we say minimizing lodging costs is key to not stressing out while on vacation. Lucky for you that Canmore is home to a variety of stays including hostels, Air BNB’s and luxe mountain hotels all of which will vary on your pocketbook.
Moreover, there are plenty of cozy B and B’s, kid-friendly resorts, luxe cabin accommodations, and condo options for you to choose from. If you’re more like goldilocks and less like the three bears, we’ve got you covered! Check out Paintbox Lodge or The Lamphouse Hotel.
Indulge in bliss
It’s all up to you, how you want to achieve maximum relaxation and rejuvenation.
Perhaps the best way to relax is by treating your muscles to some rejuvenation via a solo or couples massage. There is no better feeling than receiving a luxurious mountain massage and emerging with a soft glow feeling more relaxed than you were before. There are a plethora of options here, so we will let you choose: Wildflower Massage and Esthetics, Verde Day Spa, Etana Wellness, Modern Wellness or Mindful Massage are all located within downtown.
If being touched isn’t your thing, trick your body into mediation with a rest in one of Canmore’s deprivation chambers at Float Canmore. After slipping into your bathing suit, you’ll take a dip in the float tank for 60 minutes, and allow your mind to clear of all the worries you may be holding there. Drift off into a blank state of mind, which will let you recharge and emerge feeling ready to take on anything!
Connect with nature
Canmore is an outdoor enthusiasts paradise. What better way to commune with Mother Nature than to plan a Canmore adventure in the great outdoors? You can hit up the fat biking trails, take a stroll along the river, grab a coffee and enjoy the Policeman’s creek, take an adventure tour with Tour Canmore, or go dog sledding with Snowy Owl! If you enjoy cross country skiing, you can look for it at the Canmore Nordic Centre located right in town.

Communitea Cafe is a great option for those looking to eat healthy during their Canmore restorative retreat. Bonus: They are now open later so you can dine at breakfast, lunch, or dinner! Choose between tasty morning treats like acai bowls and open-faced breakfast sandwiches. Once lunchtime hits, you’ll find an assortment of healthy buddha bowls sure so make you rub your belly in happiness. If buddha bowls are not your thing, they also offer a soup and market salad combo – made fresh daily!
But what’s for dinner? We recommend heading to Canmore Tapas or the Trough Dining Co for delicious dinner items packed with fresh local ingredients, a cozy atmosphere, and wonderful service! For more ideas on healthy eating, including vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options, check out our dining page.
Gather good karma
It’s as simple as packing a reusable water bottle on your outdoor excursion instead of single-use plastic or taking it a step further by packing a small trash bag to pick up litter on the trails. Did you know you can also use items such as cloth snack bags and wax cloths to wrap your food? Dining out? Take a glass container for your leftovers! These are all great ways you can reduce your footprint while visiting Canmore!
Be sure to always pack out what you pack in, and if you come across a garbage can that is full, don’t leave your garbage there! Take it to the next nearest disposal bin.
We are all trying to keep Canmore and the surrounding mountains clean, so those who come after us can enjoy the majesty of the Canmore Canadian Rockies just as we did!
