No great adventure starts on an empty stomach. Fuel up before heading out on your next adventure in the Canadian Rockies by visiting one of the following restaurants, pubs and cafes who are serving up fantastic mountaineer food and incredible patio views – word of advice, wear your stretchy pants.
Breakfast
Rocky Mountain Bagel Co
If we had to describe Rocky Mountain Bagel Co. in one word, it would be ‘fresh’. Every evening, before closing, you can find their friendly team preparing homemade bagels, ready for all the hungry locals and visitors that come through their doors. They offer many different bagel flavors, including maple, jalapeno cheddar, rosemary salt, and sesame, as well as a variety of sandwiches, soups, quiche, and baked goods to enjoy while basking in the sun and admiring the mountain views from their storefront patio.
Do you not feel like sitting outside? That’s not a problem; enjoy their mountaineer-styled interior, with a stone fireplace, leather couches, glass block bay windows, and folk music playing in the background – if this doesn’t scream cozy, we simply don’t know what does.
Beamer's Coffee Bar
If you love coffee as much as you do the great Canadian Rockies, you’re in for a treat. Beamer’s, one of Canmore’s oldest coffee brewers, offers customers unique coffee blends such as the Miner’s Blend, Old Goat & Three Sister Blend – all roasted, ground and brewed in-house.
We cannot forget to mention their sandwiches, wraps, and other incredible baked goods, like cookies, cinnamon buns, and croissants. Paired with a beautiful mountain view from their patio, it makes for a brew-tacular breakfast.
Lunch
Cabeza Grande
When you hear someone say, “it’s just as good as mom used to make,” you know it’s good, right? Cabeza Grande, one of the best Mexican restaurants in downtown Canmore, serves authentic Mexican food packed with flavourful and fresh ingredients and tasty margaritas from their wide variety of tequila selections.
Sip, sit, and enjoy the beautiful views on their street-side patio, festive and vibrant decor, and friendly staff.
Rocky Mountain Flatbread Company
Is it just us, but after a massive summit hike, mountain bike ride, or water rafting from White Wolf Rafting, the first thing we crave are carbs…we can’t be the only ones, right?
There is no better place to fill this craving than eating at Rocky Mountain Flatbread Company, located on 10th Street, which serves hungry customers award-winning fire stone pizza with nothing but organic ingredients. Choose from a variety of unique flatbreads, such as fig & brie w/ prosciutto, pesto prawn, bacon & potato, sundried tomato, or even create your own.
Dinner
The Grizzly Paw
Since 96′ The Grizzly Paw Pub and Microbrewery has been offering customers handcrafted beer and sodas made right here in Canmore, with hefty portions of delicious traditional pub food – chicken wings, burgers, brisket sandwiches, tacos, and more!

Where the Buffalo Roam Saloon
Why should you have all the fun? Bring along your furry baby because at the Where the Buffalo Roam Saloon, they welcome four-legged friends with welcome arms – even providing water and a cool place for your pooch to get some well-needed R&R.
Aside from being pet friendly, they offer dinners with an old western atmosphere and a menu designed for sharing.
