A Slice of Heaven in the Mountains

The people of Canmore are early risers, and for good reason! Grab your comfiest shoes and hit up one of the amazing coffee shops downtown before heading out along the river for a peaceful stroll. Follow the river path to the famous Canmore Engine Bridge or meander up the newly built Trans-Canada pathway to take in magnificent views of the town.

Morning is also the best time to take in the majestic mountain vistas from the comfortable seat of a helicopter. Head to Tour Canmore to book yourself and your travel buddy in for the ride of your life!

Any Time is Snack Time

Let’s face it, it’s early in the day and you’ve already worked up an appetite. Perhaps it’s all that fresh mountain air, or maybe it’s because you skipped dinner to make it to the mountains after your workday, but you are FAMISHED! The good news is there is no shortage of dining options in Downtown Canmore, and there is something for every palate. Rocky Mountain Bagel Co. hits the nail on the head with their gourmet bagels, or you may choose the local’s favourite for breakfast: Where the Buffalo Roam. Fun Fact: Where the Buffalo Roam recently won the award for Public’s Choice at the Made With Love – Cocktail Competition in Calgary, hosted by Campari Canada and Disaronno! Dinner and lunch offer you the same problem: so many restaurants and so little time, but if you want a little something from everywhere, head out on a Canmore Tasting Tour to satisfy every craving.

Make sure you take the time to explore and learn about Canmore’s intriguing mining history. With many remnants still scattered throughout Canmore, you can visit the Canmore Museum and Barracks for a close-up look at where our quaint little mountain town evolved from!

Enough of this sissy stuff, its time to let your inner wilderness explorer free! Head out from Downtown to explore the beautiful Grassi Lakes, explore the Rat’s Nest with Canmore Cave Tours, or explore Grotto Canyon on a guided canyoning tour (There’s no better way to beat the heat!). Getting Around Town

It has never been easier to get around town thanks to Roam Transit. The Token Transit app allows you to access fares and travel passes with the swipe of a finger, but the good news is that travelling within Canmore’s confines is absolutely FREE!
