The Last of Us - HBO Filming in Canmore

What is Happening

Canmore is about to look a lot more like a post-apocalyptic Jackson, Wyoming! HBO is coming to town and will be shooting at various locations within the downtown core throughout November. Residents can expect to see aesthetic changes and road closures around the downtown area that will temporarily transform select areas of downtown Canmore into Jackson, Wyoming.

What You Need to Know
  • Preparations will occur Nov. 1 – Nov. 16. You will notice construction activities to temporarily transform the aesthetics of several locations in the downtown area.
  • From Nov. 15 – Nov. 20 (reopening Nov. 21), Main Street will close to vehicles from the 600 block to the 800 block. Take alternate routes during this time.
  • Main Street businesses remain open!
  • Ambassadors will be on-site to guide you to your destination.
  • Filming will take place at the following dates and locations: 800 block of Main Street (Nov. 16 – 19), 800 block of 14 St (Nov. 19), the Miner’s Hall parking lot (Nov. 16), and the Engine Bridge (Nov. 15).

Accessible Access

Main Street businesses remain open but may only be accessed via back entrances (alleyways) at times. There are ambassadors on-site to guide you to your destination.

We know this is inconvenient for residents with mobility issues. If you require special assistance, please contact businesses directly. We have created additional accessible parking stalls at ArtsPlace parking lot. The accessible stall by the Post Office will be relocated towards 7th and 7th.
